Applying the Law of Attraction... What's Involved?

There was a lot of excitement roused in regard to applying the law of attraction a few years ago due to the popular movie, The Secret.

It highlighted a timely message to the world...

You are not a victim of external circumstance, rather, you are a co-creator. It emphasized the power of passion, affirmations, and belief. Although action and follow through were intimated, it gave some people the impression that the secret law of attraction is that it works simply, like magic.

But wanting something with all your heart is just the beginning of the magical journey...

You can accomplish virtually anything if you want it badly enough and if you are willing to work long enough and hard enough.

Of course synchronicity of events may offer good fortune along the way, and this certainly may make it feel like it's happening like magic. There's no doubt an incredible interaction is continuously going on between each of us and the universe. Life is constantly offering signs, signals and information along our journey. It's up to us to keep our eyes open and then... put it to use!

A Recent Experience Applying the Law of Attraction

One situation that spurred me into putting the law of attraction in action during the past year was: I was always feeling tired when I woke up in the morning. I'd go to bed at 10 or 11 at night and after a good 8 or even 9 hours of sleep I'd lift my head off the pillow and often roll right back over and go to sleep for another 30 to 60 minutes. The first thought in my head in the morning was "I'm so tired!". It seemed I was doing all the right things for my health (ie. eating organic food, walking 4 or 5 times a week, maintaining a healthy weight), so I was a bit stumped.

My experience in applying the law of attraction in this instance was typical of whenever I put the law of attraction in action.

The first thing I did was change my morning mind chatter. I realized that by saying "I'm so tired" I was reinforcing the tiredness. So throughout the day I'd say a positive personal affirmation to myself: "I wake up earlier in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to get up and get on with my day".

Did a week or two of saying this affirmation multiple times make me start jumping out of bed early in the morning?

NO... in fact things got worse before they got better.

A couple of my teeth started bothering me. I realized I had a cavity and a number of my teeth nearby became really sensitive to heat and cold. I was determined that I was not going to get another filling from the dentist, firmly believing that my body can heal itself if given the right conditions. Well that began a journey into optimizing my health that has had many wonderful and dramatic affects.

  1. First I studied and learned about how each of my teeth were connected to various organs in my body.

  2. Then I asked friends for referrals to people that could help me address the health needs for particular organs that were associated with the teeth that were bothering me.

  3. These things led me to take action and make major changes to my sleep habits, and my diet (I'm now eating much more raw food, more fruit and vegetables, and far less meat and dairy).

A few synchronicities happened while applying the law of attraction:

  • One of the practitioners I was seeing in regard to improving the health of a particular organ gave me a gem of info in regard to sleep.

    Even though I'd not mentioned to her about waking up tired in the mornings. She said "Each hour of sleep before midnight is worth two, and each hour after midnight is worth a half hour." I started going to bed earlier.

  • In a natural health shop I asked the attendant about a vitamin and mineral supplement.

    In response he sold me on the benefits of a group of 'live super foods' (ie. Acai berry, Maca, Spirella, Cocao) that now go into my breakfast with other yummy vitalizing foods. A 'live foods' breakfast has become a staple for me, and it's adding to my energy.


  • I'm waking up much earlier in the morning and feeling like getting up and starting my day
  • Dental xrays have confirmed that my jaw is re-calcifying (ie. laying down new bone material)
  • Re-mineralization is occurring over the tooth cavity
  • Numerous people have told me how well I'm looking.

    One friend has commented multiple times on how good my skin looks, and another told me it seems like I'm getting younger (Yes, they are great friends! :)

  • And now, when I go for a walk it turns into a run because... I feel like it!

Applying the law of attraction definitely begins with a hope, a dream... a heartfelt wish. If you continue to focus and put the law of attraction in action, then it will surely take you on to learn new information and apply relevant actions to your life.

Finally, if you persevere in your pursuit, the sought after treasure will be yours. This has been an 8 month journey for me with dietary changes many people would not care to adopt (ex. have stopped caffeine, gone off alcohol/wine, and dine out only on a rare occasion). Has it been worth it? Absolutely.
