Associations Add Rich Color to Life

There were the days when as a young lad I use to call out at random every senior and elderly persons as "Uncle".

I remember vividly it was just a term of reference and more used for calling of attention.

There was nothing besides or beyond that.

Today, when I walk down the street and hear children calling me "Uncle" it creates instantly an emotional charge and a sudden unknown closeness.

Yes, I try at times to look back to meet the eyes of the children and connect that calling only to find - they have moved along by then.

How I wish I knew what it meant to the 'Uncles'; then
And that the children know what it means to me; now

And yet .... some associations make life so cute and beautiful
