Gotta Have a Little Faith
Faith the dog is a Chow-Lab mix puppy. She came to my family in January 2003 when my son Reuben rescued her from her own mother. Her mother was trying to put her down because she couldn't suckle. Faith was born without the use of her front legs. This disability has never stopped her from moving about on her two strong back legs however, and as the world's most popular bipedal dog, Faith has been seen by nearly 600,000,000 people world wide.
Faith and I travel about the U.S. and soon the world, to spread her message of courage and perseverance. Because of her work with our Armed Forces She was given the honorary rank of an E5 Sgt in the U.S. Army. Now, because of this status, she is allowed in the hospital wards of every military base we visit. She sits with wounded soldiers and those who need her most, allowing them to share their own stories with medical professionals who they may not otherwise speak to without her help.
Our hope is that Faith can be loved and admired for her courage and bravery - - to do what just comes natural, and that is to live a positive and happy life no matter what the world expects of you.
Faith comes in many shapes and sizes, it transforms every religion and is timely as well as timeless. Faith is having the belief in what you know to be true but can't see it just yet. That just about sums up Faith the dog's attitude! There's always another smile to be found.
Faith's real and true story can be found online at www.faiththedog.info and we hope you'll look her up the next time you need a little push, a little hope, or just a little - - FAITH.
