FeedBack, and FeedForward

by Mohan M Prasad
(India )

He had a chat about his performance with his Boss and the owner of the business.

At the end of the discussion, his boss said "You have done a great job", while the owner added "We would like you to continue this way".

He thanked both and left.

As he was returning home, he reflected on those words heard from them and felt:

"My boss gave me a ‘feedback’ while the owner gave me a ‘feed forward’...

My boss' comment was a good massage; while the owners advice was a great message...

One satisfied my Ego while the other charged my energy...

One dwelt in the past while the other on the future."

He had thanked both ... yet felt more thankful to the owner.

PS : Incidentally one was from a B school while the other never set out to see school.

Bob Proctor says it well...
by: Cath

"All of the great achievers of the past have been visionary figures; they were men and women who projected into the future. They thought of what could be, rather than what already was, and then they moved themselves into action, to bring these things into fruition."
