Good to bad

by Aisoly Christopher
(Port Moresby, PNG)

In the dream world years back
without knowing the future roaming, squeezing,
joking and playing toys are my habits.
The environment was so beautiful
ever green where I could hear colourful birds singing
the island rhythms up in the air.

The sea was very friendly
giving out waves to clean the white, brown, black, sandy beach.
The sun shines so bright that warms the natures beauty.

People are kind and helpful.
That time I threw my first step on steamy Kapit beach.
Could be fare enough with the NSR bad boys footprints walk.
From today in a world of change I recall and
felt sorry for what I have lost.

As back dated to now in the world of change I
felt sorry for what I have lost
especially the environment and the attitude
have been demoralized by the western culture.
I know I won't take it back but the memories
will be in my heart for the rest of my life.

How much you care
by: Cath

Your poem Good to Bad brought a tear to my eye and to my heart Aisoly. It is always sad to see what we love disrespected.

I have faith that life can direct us to help bring the earth and our people back to health and vitality. I believe it speaks most clearly to those of us feeling this pain, as we both do. If we can listen, learning and doing what we can... each day.

Thank you for sharing how much you care.
