This short inspirational poem about life and death awakens you with a little shake. The fact that our lives are but a transient expression is often overlooked in our fast paced lives. And when it's faced, it is mostly mourned. This inspiring poem offers another perspective.
Sandcastle Photo by Victoria Pickering
The sea rushes in Takes everything with it Sandcastles, flags, shells Debris, dreams even. Makes me mad Why, my castle Spend so much time on it Both of us I sit on the shore Sulking Look at the expanse And realize All I am thinking about Is my sand castle And I can’t see the sea And all that it offers at all What a waste But I did build my sandcastle Didn’t I? The small child in me questions So…what about it? I find myself asking And I smile to myself again Realization The sandcastle Has just changed shape It is still there Somewhere In the heart of the sea Forever. I don’t have to watch it at all Now Nothing can destroy it Anymore My sandcastle Is finally home. © Rhea D'Souza Other Short Inspirational Poems by Rhea D'Souza:
