Positive Self Talk Helps Create Your Dreams

Practicing positive self talk throughout our day helps to raise our vibration and has the power to dramatically improve our results. The heightened positive vibration first of all feels great.

In turn it has a beneficial affect on the cells in our body.

Have a look at the article As A Man Thinketh and note the results of a few studies that support the fact that our thoughts affect every cell in our body.

The vibration then continues out from us to favorably interact with the energy of the rest of our universe.

Self talk relates to the things we tell ourselves about our own performance (ie. I love being a superb cook, I am thrilled to be intelligent and capable).

As well, it relates to what we are saying to ourselves about the tasks, duties, and other things in our lives (ie. I'm so thankful that I have a safe and reliable car to drive.). So positive self talk is basically thinking optimistically about who we are, and whatever else is going on in our life.

The Range Of Self Talk

Our daily thoughts cover a range from negative, indifferent, to positive thoughts. Each one of those streams of thought creates a certain unique vibration. Imagine the negative as sailing through a storm with high seas. Everything is tossing and turning, you feel anxious and miserable. Your environment looks and feels uncomfortable. That is a snapshot of what you are inviting into your life with negative thinking.

Now imagine your happy positive thoughts as sailing smoothly through calm flat seas with a gentle tailwind. The air is clear and refreshing, you can actually see the silver lining in the few sparse clouds overhead as they offer their cooling shade. Lightness, ease and happiness accompany you on your journey. Life is unfolding perfectly.

The indifferent thoughts represent those things that you really don't show much care or concern about. The picture of a small boat bobbing around in a few waves and not really going anywhere, could illustrate this. Think of all the time spent rambling in these... "I'm going to pick up the mail, and then I'll make tea. The kids will be home at 4." etc. These indifferent thoughts are an excellent place to start planting more positive seeds. They are easily swayed! So instead of just rambling on, you could be saying... "I'm so glad that I have a great car to pick up the mail and groceries. The kids will love the afternoon tea I'm making for them."

Positive Self Talk Is Easy When All Is Going Well

You might say that thinking positively is much easier when everything is going well in your life. Certainly winning a million dollars will more commonly induce positive thoughts than losing a million! Yet... we are not looking to be 'common'. We are looking to be positive because of the excellent outcomes it helps to create in our lives.

What would be the most useful and productive response in such an apparent catastrophic situation? To consider every situation not only a challenge, but an opportunity. What could you possibly learn out of this situation that would serve you and others in the future? How can this apparent setback help you along the path to being the person of your highest vision?

On a very small scale, I had a personal experience using this principle. One day I picked up the mail and there were two bills that I wasn't expecting. I kind of chuckled and thought, "I must be going to make extra money over the next couple of months as these will have to be paid".

Over the next few weeks, one of the invoices was withdrawn as the company realized it had been issued in error. The other bill was reduced to about half of it's original amount. I also received a small unexpected cheque in the mail. And, of course I got to experience the positive self talk principle in action. All in all, not bad!

The More Positive Self Talk, The Better

Repetition of optimistic thoughts and positive personal affirmations is kind of like constantly filling the airwaves with your favorite music. Adding wonderful emotional feelings intensifies the vibration and power. You will be creating a continuous wave, giving out and inviting back into your life the good thoughts, feelings, and experiences that you want.

You can practice by starting each day by repeating uplifting affirmations, such as:

  1. I am thrilled by all the opportunities in my life that serve to take me closer to my ultimate goals.
  2. I feel love for everyone, unconditionally, including myself.
  3. I am so glad to be me, with my unique blend of traits, strengths and gifts.

Throughout your day look for opportunities to put your positive attitude into play. Giving thanks about anything and everything in your life is an easy and productive way to add airtime to positive self talk. Whatever is happening in your day, just put a positive thankful spin on it!

Watching your thoughts, and catching negative thoughts creeping in, does require attentiveness. By being focused in the present moment you have a greater likelihood of turning your thoughts into powerful positive creative energies. Two resources that can assist in this area are:

Believing Your Own Positive Self Talk Is Fundamental

There's one caveat to positive self talk power. It seems to be much more effective when your subconscious programming supports it.

Our thinking creates neural pathways for thoughts to travel. The more frequently traveled, the more ingrained these paths become. If you have been consciously or subconsciously telling yourself for many years that you are a failure, you will have established a well worn path in that direction.

Fortunately, it's entirely possible to replant an unwanted path by addressing any hindering beliefs ingrained in your subconscious power.

Identify those negative old thoughts that created that road. Find the learnings in them. Then build powerful new pathways by identifying supportive positive self talk and paving a freeway to freedom!

Through repetition, positive thinking and positive affirmations attempt to build that new neural freeway. Be warned,.. if the old often trod negative path in our subconscious is not addressed, progress will likely be slow and conflicted. The visions of trying to go in two directions at once, comes to mind!?!

Do you think this might be one reason that some people say that the Law of Attraction doesn't seem to work for them?

The power of positive self talk is truly experienced once we believe our positive thinking on all levels. In this way we are building a firm foundation for unhindered self empowerment.

Wielding The Power Of Positive Self Talk

To summarize the basic tips for building positively powerful self talk:

  • Practice thinking positively even when things are not going as you think you would like them to
  • Intensify your positive vibrations by adding wonderful emotions
  • Repeat positive thoughts many times throughout the day
  • Focus on the present moment to catch any negative thoughts and change them into positive ones
  • Believe your positive self talk on all levels of your being

Then, set your cruise control,... you'll be speeding towards manifesting your dreams.

Think

If you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don't;

If you'd like to win but you think you can't,

You can almost be certain you won't.

If you think that you'll lose, you are lost,

For out in the world you will find

Success begins with a person's will;

It's all in the state of the mind.

If you think you're outclassed you are;

You've got to think high to rise.

You've just got to be sure of yourself

Before you can win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go

To a stronger or faster man;

But sooner or later the person who wins

Is the person that THINKS they can.
